Trail Status Designations

Status
Description
Good
This is as good as it gets, conditions are good everywhere.
Mixed
The conditions are different between Guelph Lake and Arkell. Check the individual Intsagram postings for more details.
Wet
Watch for slippery rocks and trails.
Muddy
There are lots of wet and muddy spots, it’s best for everyone that you don’t ride the trails.
Early Spring
Ground is saturated. Don't Ride. Please be patient, we're almost there!
Good Winter
The Winter Loop riding conditions are good!
Slushy
It’s best you don’t ride – slush freezes over night and then you’re left with frozen ruts.
Icy
Slippery but rideable, studs are recommended for best traction.
Caution
Conditions are not ideal. Riding is not advised.
Don't Ride
Riding will damage the trails, please stay off.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

GORBA Volunteers will adhere to the following rules:

  1. Fulfill duties to a satisfactory standard; to the best of their ability in a safe, efficient and competent manner
  2. Follow instructions or directions reasonably given to them
  3. Treat others with fairness, equality, dignity and respect
  4. Make no derogatory remarks to other volunteers or trail users
  5. Act and communicate honestly, responsibly and with integrity at all times
  6. Sustained disruption of crew captains, events, forums, or meetings, including talks and presentations, will not be tolerated.
  7. Will not partake in alcohol and drug use when volunteering with GORBA
  8. Will dress appropriately and utilize appropriate safety gear
  9. Maintain safe working distance around others when using tools
  10. Raise concerns about possible wrongdoing they have witnessed in the course of their work with GORBA
  11. Observe safety procedures, including any obligations concerning the safety, health and welfare of other people
  12. Report any health and safety concerns to their supervisor
  13. Direct questions regarding GORBA’s policies, procedures, support or supervision to their supervisor or board member
  14. Address any issues or difficulties about any aspect of their role to their supervisor
  15. Declare any interests that may conflict with their role or the work with GORBA (e.g. business interests or employment)
  16. Keep confidential matters confidential
  17. Seek authorization before communicating externally on behalf of GORBA
